The characteristics of an effective leader are, always being on time, never giving up, being prepared, taking any challenge, and always helping others that need to be helped. I consider most of the senior class to be leaders because we all fit these characteristics. We always help each other and the grades that are younger than us. The seniors class also is always taking a challenge, especially now with all the college applications and things we are about to begin.

Being A Leader
Being a leader means that you stand up what you believe in and showing people the way how to liive their lives. For me I think of a leader who takes control and lead us for the right direction and that one day we can lead someone. There are others who who wants to lead and someday it can be me. There's a lot of leaders from my class and there's alot of them, but I can't name anyone just yet, but from what I see from the girls they are all leaders and thats what we suppose to do lead the school and set a good example because one of these day we will remeber as class of 2012 for becoming leaders.
Leader
An effective leader in my opinion is someone who does what they know is right. To not be afraid of what their peers may feel or say about them. A person who is not afraid to stand alone and stand up for what is right. A leader is also going to make mistakes, but if they can admit that they were wrong and learn from their mistakes, then that is a true leader. We can't expect everyone to be perfect, but a leader would own up to their mistakes.
One of my friends, in my opinion, is a very good leader. She has made mistakes but has also own up to what she had done wrong. She has flaws just like the rest of us but to still continue to stand up and say what's right makes her unique! :)

there are many types of characteristics about a leader. there are leaders who are loud and outspoken. then there are other types of leaders who are more quiet and timid, but know what their doing and help other people out. they don't have to be loud and outspoken and outgoing like other leaders. as long as they know what their doing and have that motivation to keep doing good, they can lead others. a leader is someone who has good determination and motivation in everything they do. someone who is kind, helpful, and is well known for great things.

English
The book that changed my life is the toritlla curtain because it helps me see how much some white people have anger towards some Mexicans had jobs and some white people don't. It make me see how much some immigrants are like even scared to go to the doctor because they might call immigration.
NONE
I know that we're supposed to post a book that has changed your life but i dont have one...yet. Most of the books I've read have been for school. I have a favorite book but not one that has changed or impacted my life in that way.
The Book that Changed My LIFE.....
The book that changed my life would have to be The Torilla Curtain. I say this because before I read this book i would like that having these walls and barriers were not that big of a deal. I would think that maybe they would just need there space. But when I came to realize what the purpose of it was I was like why would some people want to seperate themselves from others around them. This book made me have the mentality of welcoming everyone.

Tuesdays with Morrie
I read this book when I was a Junior and it really changed the way I looked at life. It tought me how we should live our life to the fullest up until the very last breath of our happily fulfilled life. Just like the College profesor did. When Morrie learned that he had only a few months to live with the deadly disease he learned to appreaciate life more. Morrie began the last class of his life with Mitch the last fourteen weeks of Morrie’s life, Mitch met with him every Tuesday to learn and understand all of the wisdom and lessons Morrie was teaching. Those leassons didin't only impact Mitch they also impacted me.
The Missing Piece Meets the Big O
I read alot of different genres of books and most don't really have much of an impact on me, honestly. There's really only a handful that I can truly say changed me. But one that stuck with me for as long as I can remember is The Missing Piece meets the Big O by Shel Silverstein. I fell in love with it as a kid. It's probably the best book out there & I think everyone should at least take a peek at it, once in awhile. Shel Silverstein always had this way of taking life's most distressing and heartbreaking situations and making it into a form that (almost) everyone, even small children, can relate to. For example, when you're reading this, you think it's just a silly little story about a wedge trying to fit in somewhere, but then you get deeper into it, and all of a sudden, a light switches on in your head and your going "Oh! Wow! I get it now. This sounds so familiar..." and you realize this silly little story isn't just a story you can throw away after your done. It's practically a carbon copy of reality. And in the end, you can't help but feel just a little bit better knowing that somebody out there understood how you felt. :)
A Hope in the Unseen
This book changed my life because it talked about how much bullying, and negativity that goes on in today's society. Not only are people being judged by the color of their skin but also by the knowledge they have. The book shows to basically NEVER give up, to pray and have confidence in everything that you do and say.
IT!
I think a book that really changed my life is "A child called IT" for the fact that how hes mom would treat her son and how she didnt really care for him. Also how she would beat him and make him eat and drink stuff thats not good for him. It changed my life because when i read this book i thought it was that saddest thing ever. I felt that i wouldnt want to be like hes mom if i were to have kids i wouldnt let them starve. it changed my life because from reading it i was like i dont want to be like the lady and to those awful things. It showed me to be patient with kids.
Hell Razor Honeys
A book that has changed my life is "Hell Razor Honeys", this book has changed my life because it is about teenage girls that are bad influences. The main charter lives with her grandmother and her grandma doesnt know anything she does. One of her best friends gets pregnant and they still do bad things. The girls go to clubs and parties and cut people and they have all been in jail at least once and they are only 17. This has changed my life because it shows me what i dont want to be and how some teens really are. I am happy to say that me nor any girl that attends Tepeyac is like this.

The Tortilla Curtain
The Tortilla Curtain has changed my life because it got me to think about what I'm willing to wall in and what am I willing to wall out and this is going to help me through out senior year and college because it is my goal to keep in the positive and the negative out just like in the book. I also won't let anything get in my way from achieving. Like in the book the couple is walling in the good stuff and walling out their fear. Finally their barrier is that big fence, they were not going to let that get in their way so they try to go over and that is what I do. I do whatever it takes.
the book that changed my life-----
The book that changed my life is a book that I read literally 3 times in a row in middle school. " Bud not Buddy". i have no real reason for liking this book other than the fact that it had easy homework.. there were a couple of significant things in the book that stuck with me like, how no matter where he was placed he always kept up with his dead mothers belongings..That taught me to keep up with my passed on (because i can't spell the other word for dead right now) realtives belongings. For the younger ones in my family as well as myself.........
hope of the unseen
the hope of the unseen had change my life because it talks how many teenagers struggle to be the person they want to be. the same thing that happens to me because i want to make sure that my dreams come true like cedric who went to college and ignore his problem and start thinking about his life. i hope that happens to me one day because if it does happen that means my dream came true
