Ancient/classical literature

Mines on ancient classical literature and how rumi's poem the elephant in the dark...and me personally I feel the time period was some what slow but it did change how ancient literature was such as types of writing plays and poetry like drama and writing styles. as well as rumi's writing changed over the years as he was influenced by a close friend that latter was killed by rumi's own son. Though it was very unfortunate but it was because of that one lose that inspired him to write thousands of poetry which happen to be the ones he was well known for. He also wrote a book or story of some sort but I can't really remember but I do know that he is well known for that by Many and also relates to his religion which inspired others but like I said I really can't remember at the. Moment and if you wanna know den you can look it up on line or wait to read my paper when I finish.

New info about my research

What I have learned about my time period which is romanticism is that it focuses more on revolution from Napoleon and that the French revolution is an inspiration. What I have learned about the author of my poem I chose is that Heinrich Heine put away his kaw degree and decided to become a writer which was his passion. And also he dedicated the poem that I have examined which is called The Lotus Flower to his cousin of his which is a woman.
Let's see what I've learned from this lame research paper that was assigned to us... ummm NOTHING! lol, just kiding well I've learned that the printing press is a huge part in the litterature field as well as to the world in general it made a huge impact! I don't think that I would be typing this right now if it wasnt for the prenting press because we probly wouldn't be able to read.

Victorian Era!

The time period I had to research on was The Victorian Era. I learned a lot of stuff from researching this time period and the historical events that were happening during that time. This era was named after Victoria who was queen during this time. The rules were very strict and everyone had to follow them. Some of the literature was mostly about making fun of the rules. The poems were based on everyday life. I enjoyed researching about this time period, I learned a lot :D

NO MORE ERNEST SAY WHAT!!!!!!

Im so excited that we don't have to blog about freaking Ernest and his sinful was lol. Who says that I am almost done with my paper. If that is what you want to believe than you can. So here goes my Ernest lie about my paper.

I learned that in my time period there were alot of inventions that we still use today.I also learned that Shakepere was a little suspecious. Who knows if he actual wrote his plays I mean there are no legit photos of him writing his plays.I also learned that Shakespere might have had a webit of sugar in his tank. Just saying noonan thats what I found out dont't get mad at me.

ABOUT TIME!

Now that you're almost finished with your research, what have you learned about your assigned time period/author/piece of literature? Amaze and inspire us with your new knowledge.

Thank God that were almost done with this research paper ugh!!!!!!! Stressful ;/! But anyways what i learned about my time period was that it went way back! The story of the Gilgamesh and the flood went from civilization to civilization! It was being orally told for many years until it came upon one civilization called the Sumerians. That civilization created a writing method and was able to put the story down. I learned a lot about the Sumerian civilization. It was interesting how the story was going around and will get changed up every time it was past on.

THANK YOU JESUS

My time period was Medieval Literature and I learned many different time period between 455-1485 and had a lot of history that been gone through. Especially learning from the author Chrietien de Troyes who wrote the poem called The Grail and was very popular for a long time. This time had a lot problem but solve through and that is what I like about this story

Stuck up time? o.0

The Victorian time was named after Queen Victoria. I learned that during my time Oscar Wilde made fun of that time because it was a 'stuck up time' also the poet I researched Elizabeth Barrett all her poetry were for her husband(all in loveee). Her poem "How do I love thee" is very well known. After she was married to him, her father basically disowned her.

My main man :D

By doing this research paper I have learned a lot about Rumi. One fact about him is that, his inspiration for writing poetry came from his religion.
~Some examples of classical literature are; Greek, Hebrew, Chinese, and Latin language.
Elephant in The Dark! ~Rumi!
Some Hindus have an elephant to show.
No one here has ever seen an elephant.
They bring it at night to a dark room.

One by one, we go in the dark and come out
saying how we experience the animal.
One of us happens to touch the trunk.
A water-pipe kind of creature.

Another, the ear. A very strong, always moving
back and forth, fan-animal. Another, the leg.
I find it still, like a column on a temple.

Another touches the curved back.
A leathery throne. Another the cleverest,
feels the tusk. A rounded sword made of porcelain.
He is proud of his description.

Each of us touches one place
and understands the whole that way.
The palm and the fingers feeling in the dark
are how the senses explore the reality of the elephant.

If each of us held a candle there,
and if we went in together, we could see it.

Rumi believed in helping people and also writing literature that can relate to one(s) life issues or everyday struggles!

THIS GURL.

My time period was Romanticism. I thought researching this topic would be really easy, but I find it hard
looking for NEW information. Everything is the same, so I have to be really specific when I do my research.
I learned that poets during this time period viewed Romanticism as something beautiful, inspiring, natural,
and real. It was something that not a lot of people understood because they were all into materialistic things,
instead of looking at what is front of us, or all around us (nature). This was something that poets all had in common
and that they valued.

:)

This play is a trivial comedy because some of the characters say a joke it you really have to get what's happening in order to actually get the joke. Some people might not get the joke there for they don't get the joke. I think some parts (the ones I get) are funny. Theres a lot of stuff going on in the play so it gets confusing

Idk!

This play is a trivial comedy because the jokes are meant to be serious but aren't or other people just dont get it. But then that wouldn't make it a joke if it was meant to be serious. Hmm! This book was made for corny people, *cough cough* and sometimes it takes Ms.Noonans 12 hour explanation to really understand. :)

Trivial Comedy

This play is a trivial comedy for serious people is when they start arguing a little bit and then when they something to each other say something funny and don't know what were they arguing about and go back to being normal. The example will be when Cecily said to algernon who pretended to be Ernest that they were engage and he didn't even know what was going on and after that the engagement was off. Algernon was confuse that he didn't know what to do. That's what I think is trivial comedy

I hate this seinfield book

How is this play a "trivial comedy for serious people"? List examples from the
play
This book is like Family Guy, SNL and Seinfield in the sense that if your not that smart you won't find it funny. Then again the book is way closer to being like Seinfield in the sense that its not funny at all because there speaking in different language to me.To me everyone is dumb. The girl Celia (shes not that important if I can't spell her name -__-)She's in love with the thought of someone. Earnest/Jack has a split life which is probaly illegal in the United States and probaly also a sign of being bi-polor.The only guy thats really funny to me is the buttler because he dosen't say that much but when he does you know he's saying it dry and probaly spits in there food.

This book is boring

This book is a serious trivial comedy there are some scenes that they do make fun of themselves kind of by how serious they are but they are putting it in a less funny way. I say less funny way because its not funny. But anyway here are some examples like the part were the niece loves that guy name earnest but doesn't know him really well and that part were the mom is asking him question and gets wierd answers and she took it seriously. So yea this book is not funny and I dont get it.

Trivial comedy

The play or story whatever it is.. -___________-
Has trivial comedy because of how all the characters are. How they say they are one person and their really not its like there being two faced Lol. Like for example Jack/ Ernest hes one person and another somewhere else. Its funny because he gets caught up very easily and its makes him look slow. I think another is where that dude allgernon says he loves cecily but how if he has never met her before or even seen her in hes life. Its just that funny awkward stuff.

FRIDAY,

This play is an example of trivial comedy because it talks about things that "grown ups" and or "serious" people get. Like when it talks about marriage, we "teens" dont really get whats going on because we cant relate to that, and im sure that people who are married and stuff could get a good laugh about this play. OOOOOOOOOOOORRRRR,
sometimes when we read this book no one laughs besides Noonan, thats how we know that this play is trivial comedy for serious people... or boring people.

Not so seriouse

How is this play a "trivial comedy for serious people"? List examples from the play.
I think its trivial comedy because the characters are always talking about things not being such a big deal as if it's not important when our minds it is. like when Algernon wants to get married with Cecily , though she said its not of importance to her.

>____<'.

I agree with claudia!! D; Noonan isn't here to explain! >:O
I'm not a big fan of this play either. But i can explain what
trivial comedy is for serious people though, it's like saying a
joke in a serious moment about someone, and hat other person
doesn't quite get it till that person telling the joke has to explain it.

0__o ha?

How is this play a "trivial comedy for serious people"? List examples from the play.

This play is a trivial comedy for serious people because trivia comedy is a joke that you have to think about to really understand. Cecily and Ernest are somewhat an ide of trivial comedy since they both "love" each other, even though they never met before. Another one is when Gwendolens mom was questioning that guy on marrying her daughter and she was okay with all the other things he did except when she found out he didn't know where he came from. Duummb! This book is just full of things you have to think about.

Marriageee? Nahhhhh

How is this play a "trivial comedy for serious people"? List examples from the play.

This play is an "trivial comedy for serious people" because the characters are always talking about how things aren't serious to them. For example when they talk about how marriage isn't important, but then again Algernon wants to get married to Cecily even though he said that it wasn't important.

Trivial Comedy??

How is this play a "trivial comedy for serious people"? List examples from the play.

This play is a trivial comedy because when the characters in the play make a joke you have to think about what joke means. The joke is not meant for you to understand it right away you have to think about it means. This play makes fun of serious people. Like when Gwendelon wanted to get married to Earnest/Jack but Gwendolen's mother didn't want them too.

Comedy

I don't even know what trivial comedy isss! And Ms. Noonan is not hereeee to tell me what it means, so i'ma say what i think it means. I think it means like comedy like little comedy. Is good for them because it means not so much comedy.

Man, im so tired of blogging about this stupid book! The last two blogs have been about it, I think that's all we need. But this book is a "trivial comedy for serious people" because it's making fun of them. Like that one girl (I forgot her name) niece of Jack who swore she loved him but didn't even know him and never met him. Or when the aunt was interrogating Jack about who, how and where he came from, she asked so many questions and Jack's answers were ridiculous. All he answered she just shook her head but when he said he didn't know who his father was, she almost had a heart attack. Point is, they're stupid.
