How is this play a "trivial comedy for serious people"? List examples from the play.
This play is a trivial comedy because when the characters in the play make a joke you have to think about what joke means. The joke is not meant for you to understand it right away you have to think about it means. This play makes fun of serious people. Like when Gwendelon wanted to get married to Earnest/Jack but Gwendolen's mother didn't want them too.
