How is The Importance of Being Earnest a
"comedy of manners"? Is this play actually funny? What is Wilde satirizing?
I think is a comedy of manner because is comedy and it has manners. Because is comedy in just like a certain type of group, in like the upper class. Is somewhat funnny. Like "ha,ha,ha" funny; not much if "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" funny. Like dry humorr, you really have to be catching all the jokess. He is criticing how one small lie can totally commit something really big.
