Look, I don't think it's funny it's actually boring but the matter of the act is, he's making fun of the stuck up people in that era and how stupid and ridiculous their "properness" was. Like when the aunt was asking jack about his family, all she cared about was his last name and the fact the he didnt know his father. I have no idea what satirizing is so sure it's "satirizing".
