She is torn in between the two cause she really wants to be with you (Frank). But her deceased mother is in her mind reminding her of the promise that Eveline made. She wants to leave but she can't just leave her somewhat helpless father.
In a way I agree with her choice because she has a loving heart based on the fact that she chose to stay and help her dad who was a drunk and verbally and physically abusive. And she is keeping her word with her mom, she sat her life to the side for her family.
That is very true she does have a loving heart because I think not every person is going to do what she did.
