What is the internal conflict in "Eveline"? Do you agree with her choice? Explain. How is this short story an example of Modern Literature?

Eveline's internal conflict is not being sure what choice to make. She is young like us, and sometimes we experience similar situations like making a decision  that's going to affect you in a way. In this short story Eveline has to make a decision on either staying with her father who mistreats her and take the responsibility of a mother since her mother passed away, or escape with her boyfriend. At the end Eveline made the choice of staying home and I think she made the right choice because she had promised her mother to keep the home together as long as she could. Personally, I think I would do the same. This is an example of modern literature because this could happen to anyone now and everyone could experience something like Eveline did.
